Take these thoughts from my head.
The sirens are coming, my notions are dead.
Curved earth finds its worth: failed-poultice circle.
Love lost in coin toss, frost sheet on my bed.
No wait no. I was born in half.
Take these thoughts from my head.
The hearses are coming, my symbols are dead.
Faces in the sun are laughing it up.
I'm love-filled and love-starved, betting on luck.
No wait no. I was born in half.
Will I come back? I don't wanna come back unless I'm whole.
The words that we can't find are the words we'll never have.
I can't see past my mind, and your mind's in the past.
Stumbled across this great band because of Martha the band and I just love their sometimes melancholy garage-sound.
Also I like the acoustic songs.
I still remember seeing them live in my hometown when they were touring with Erica Freas and asked them for a setlist to have something to remember the great concert.
It´s hanging on my wall since that day :) Ninehundredninetynine
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

Leaning into the sparse, impressionistic sound of 2023's albu "Nature Morte," the Montreal metallurgists sound as heavy and radiant as ever. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 21, 2024
